Lonan 1850 No 101

At a Chapter Court, holden at Douglas on the 18th day of October 1850 Mary Mylroie wife of Robert Mylroie of the parish of Kirk Lonan having departed this life on or about the twenty-fifth day of June last past intestate, and this court having received intelligence thereof, hath (for the preservation of the rights of all persons concerned) decree her children namely William Edward Mylroie and Eunice Mylroie joint administrators of all and singular the goods, rights, credits, chattels, and effects, moveable and immoveable whatever of the said deceadent.

And he the said Robert Mylroie is in trust for the said joint administrators thereupon sworn, well and truly to administer the same, to pay all the intestate's just debts, so far forth as the goods will extend and the law bind; and return into the Episcopal Registry a full, true, and perfect inventory thereof, and an accurate account of all transactions, touching the same when thereunto lawfully required.

And to these ends the said Robert Mylroie hath given pledges in form of law, namely William Clucas and Richard Knowles who have executed a bond to that effect bearing equal date herewith.

Whereas the Ecclesiastical Court of this diocese hath this day granted Letters of Administration of all and singular the goods and effects of Mary Mylroie late of Lonan deceased, to Robert Mylroie in trust for the next of kin of said deceased therein named.

And whereas William Clucas of Ballacawan in the parish of Lonan and Richard Knowles of Ballamiligane in the parish of Lonan have agreed to become pledges to the said Robert Mylroie for the due administration of the said estate according to law.

Therefore know all men by these presents, that we, the said William Clucas and Richard Knowles hereby bind and oblige ourselves and our executor and administrator as pledges to the said Robert Mylroie for the due and faithful administration of the goods and effects of the said deceased according to law. And in his default we bind ourselves our executor and administrator to be answerable to all parties entered in the said Estate, or the Administration thereof. Witness our subscriptions this Eighteenth day of October 1850. William Clucas, Richard Knowles

  5. In 1869, Eunice's father left her & her step-mother a house in Laxey, and Eunice's husband purchased the step-mother's share from her in 1874
  6. William Edward married Ellenor Christian Faragher. He had different occupations over his lifetime - mariner, driver, plasterer. He lived most of his adult life in Douglas
